Neuro-Structural Chiropractic

Traditional chiropractors typically aim to decrease muscle spasms and reduce pain. Although we believe they do a great job at accomplishing those goals, Keystone Chiropractic takes a different approach by focusing on the structural shift of the spine away from normal. Because the nervous system is housed and protected by the spine, a structural shift in the spine will affect the nervous system. We call this a neuro-structural shift.

The nervous system is the master controlling and communicating system of the body, coordinating all its organs and functions. Think of your spine like the foundation of your house. If the foundation were to sink by a couple inches, wouldn’t you expect the walls to crack and floors to offset? In this scenario, the damaged walls and floors are the secondary conditions being caused by the primary condition, the unlevel foundation. Now you can patch up the cracks and paint over them, you can replace the floorboards……but this will never correct the cause of the problems.

Neuro-structural chiropractic focuses on detecting and correcting the primary condition. At Keystone Chiropractic, we use precision in our analysis, using advanced technology to locate your specific areas of neuro-structural shift. With the use of infrared thermography, we get an insight into the current state of your nervous system. With the use of digital x-ray and motion x-ray studies, we can see the structure and biomechanical motion of your spine to determine your exact locations of neuro-structural shift. After precise analytical procedures, we adjust the neuro-structural shift either by hand or with a computer-based instrument. Following the adjustment, we check the motion of the segments adjusted to confirm that we did the right thing for you.
