chiropractic and the nervous system

The human body is an intelligent organism designed by God, having an innate ability of healing itself when everything is working as it should. At the core of this ability is the nervous system, which is the master controlling and communicating system of the body, coordinating all its organs and functions. The nervous system is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. The spinal cord acts as a highway for the brain to communicate with the rest of the body. Our 24 spinal bones are not only forming the structure of our bodies; they are also protecting our spinal cord. What can happen is the spine can shift out of alignment, causing pressure and irritation on the spinal cord and nerves, leading to pain and dysfunction of the cells, tissues, organs, and muscles of the body. We call this a neuro-structural shift. Chiropractic is the science of finding neuro-structural shifts in the spine through precise analytical procedures, and the art of specific and gentle adjustments to realign the spinal bones back to its proper position. The correction of a neuro-structural shift ensures optimal communication and function of the nervous system, allowing the body to heal naturally.
